When workers are assigned tasks in high-hazard environments, employers are obligated to provide them with safety training using the equipment and procedures needed to ensure safety. Central to this effort is training the workers to use the equipment as designed and follow the procedures.
All effective safety training initiatives share the same characteristics. These classes must be:
- Designed to meet the needs of adult learners.
- Developed by following proven instructional design techniques.
- Delivered by instructors who understand the challenges of the industrial environment the students work within.
- Students must also have ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss challenges that are unique to their work situation(s).
Although we provide training for users and other affected employees, most of our classes are targeted towards advanced learners such as supervisors, safety managers, production leads, and others with worker oversight responsibilities. Often these students also have the responsibility of establishing and implementing their location's policies, OSHA guidelines, and ensuring compliance.
To support the students in these efforts, our classes usually include resources to help students communicate what they've learned once they've returned to their work environment. This can include leader guides, PowerPoint presentations, checklists, and other important resources that help spread safety expertise throughout the organization.
Although any of these classes can be taught at your location. Give us a call to discuss what you may need or simply get a quick quote.
