COVID Update: All in-person trainings will follow state, local, and CDC guidelines. D2000's COVID Protocols can be found here.
Our Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training focuses on meeting the needs of personnel who are tasked by employers to respond to spills or leaks of hazardous materials. This training is required by OSHA's rules governing hazardous waste: 29 CFR 1910.120 (q) Emergency response program to hazardous substances releases.
We offer various levels of training:
- Emergency Response
Emergency Response course is designed to provide those personnel who are members of a hazardous materials response team with the basic skills required to safely evaluate and mitigate an incident involving the release or spill of hazardous materials.
Employees operating at this level can identify a release and initiate the employers emergency action plan (EAP)
- First Responder Operations
(Eight hours minimum): These individuals respond to the spill and seek to protect nearby people, property, and the environment from the effects of the release. They do not actually try to stop or plug the release.
- Hazardous Materials Technician
(Twenty-four hours minimum): Technicians are trained to fulfill all the responsibilities of First Responders. In addition, they approach the release to stop, seal, or plug the leak.
- Hazardous Materials Specialist (forty hours est.)
This level of training is highly customized to allow the Specialist to perform all the responsibilities of First Responders and Technicians, along with acting as a liaison with state, Federal, and local authorities. If you are interested in this level of training, please contact us for a consultation.
