Students who take this rescue class need to have already completed:
- Confined space entrant and attendant training
- First aid training and/or a background
- CPR training and/or a background
- Respiratory protection training (as applicable)
- Hazardous materials training (as applicable)

Confined Space Rescue Course
As you move through the course at D2000, you will learn the fundamentals of confined space rescue service and perform exercises to become proficient in these skills for successful real-world applications. Starting with basic confined space safety, students learn the means and methods for performing technical rescues in industrial environments.
The course begins with an overview of:
- Basic process for performing a technical rescue.
- Types of technical (confined space) rescues.
- Structure of confined space rescue team.
- Relevant rescue standards and regulations.
From there, students move on and learn pre-planning procedures. This includes an explanation of pre-planning and its significance, reviews of sample rescue pre-plans, and the content and scope of these pre-plans.
The next section of the class looks at the basic rescue process, which includes:
- Rescue scene Assessment
- Confined space hazard identification and isolation
- Rescue team preparation
- Making the confined space entry
- Patient evaluation/care
- Patient retrieval
As the students become more proficient, they will add to their skills as they explore Technical Rope Rescue Equipment; Equipment Care & Inspection; Knots and Hitches; and Rescue Systems. Successful completion of the D2000 confined space rescue course will ensure that your team will be able to perform rescues in confined spaces as assigned.
