Jim Johnson, Chief Executive Officer

Jim JohnsonJim was named CEO of D2000 in mid-2002. He has years of experience in designing effective curricula and ensuring the continued quality of D2000 programs. Previous to his involvement with D2000, Jim worked with a wide number of Fortune 500 firms as a consultant and instructional designer developing management, sales, personal development, and technical training programs.

Mary Johnson, Chief Operating Officer

Mary JohnsonMary is responsible for the company's administration and day-to-day operations. She is a 1986 graduate of the University of Oregon with twenty years of financial experience in the banking industry as a bank compliance officer, branch manager and commercial loan officer.

Pat Rhodes, Senior Rescue Instructor

prhodesPat accrued over 40 years of experience in the field of technical rescue including 28 years with the Phoenix Fire Department as a firefighter/rescue technician and nine years as a FEMA Rescue Specialist. As part of his responsibilities with D2000, he specializes in developing advanced curricula focusing on all aspects of technical rope rescue. Pat is also responsible for instructor development and client relations.

Greg Arbizo, Rescue Instructor

Greg ArbizoA former member of the US Marines, Greg is a FEMA/USAR trainer who is qualified to teach a wide variety of technical rescue topics, including confined space, structural collapse, tower, and trench. Along with his EMT certification, he has extensive experience with hazardous materials and firefighting.

Frank Maldonado, Rescue Instructor

Frank has decades of experience as a mine rescue team leader and has provided training for several of the nation's leading rescue training companies. Like all our rescue intructors, Frank is an EMT and volunteers with his local search and rescue team.

Michael Fazio, Lead Rescue Instructor

Michael FazioWhen off-duty from his position as team leader of the City of Grants Pass Fire Department's Technical Rescue Team, Michael provides confined space and fall protection rescue training to our clients.

Bruce Hulberg, Safety Services Manager/Forklift Instructor

photoBruce has spent years working with a variety of Oregon industries on material handling and other safety-related projects. He is currently responsible for development and delivery of D2000's Forklift Operator and Train the Trainer programs.

Doug Caven, Safety Instructor

Doug Caven website photoA former safety manager for Eugene's electric and water utility, Doug has a broad background in a wide variety of safety topics including Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, and Electrical Safety. He was also past president of the Oregon Utility Safety Committee and the Cascade Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Jeff Smith, Safety Instructor

Jeff Smith website photo bw cropJeff is a graduate of Oregon State University and has 38 years of construction experience. After working in the trades for ten years he moved into management and held various positions including Project Manager and Safety Director. Jeff teaches Fall Protection, Excavation Safety, Confined Space, Supported Scaffolds, Aerial Lift Safety, and Forklift Safety.

Kenn Lindsey, Rescue Instructor

Kenn Lindsey photo smith rocksKenn has 28 years of experience with production and safety in an industrial environment. When he isn’t working as a Manager and Lead Rescue Instructor in a local steel mill, he instructs confined space, high angle and tower rescue for D2000 Safety.

Dan Fisher, Rescue Instructor

Dan Fisher w helmet bwDan has over 35 years of experience in the steel industry. He is involved in steel production and management, and plays a large part in industrial safety programs. He is a Lead Instructor and Equipment Manager for the Emergency Response Team at a steel mill in Oregon. Dan provides rescue training instruction and standby rescue for our clients when not working in the steel plant.

 Bob Guessford, Administrative Support

Bob is our administrative manager responsible for our training schedule logistics and class material fulfillment. He has 20 years experience in administrative management in the retail industry. Bob has lived in Eugene for 40 years and is an avid fan of the University of Oregon Ducks.

Lary Morton

During his years of working with us, Lary contributed immeasurably to the success D2000 Safety. He will be greatly missed.
