In addition to complying with applicable provisions contained in ANSI/ASSE Z490.1-2009: Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training, we award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for many of our training activities.
D2000 Safety, Inc. has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102; (703) 506-3275. Our provider number is 1303293.
The Mission of IACET is to promote and enhance quality in continuing education and training through research, education and the development and continuous improvement of IACET criteria, principles, and standards.
IACET Authorized Providers are allowed to issue CEUs for classes that they teach. These CEUs are required to fulfill education requirements for a variety of professions including engineers and holders of various state certifications (such as wastewater and drinking water operation certifications.)
To achieve the Authorized Provider certification, D2000 had to demonstrate an understanding of and adherance to IACET standards along with development and documentation of the means to ensure that these standards were maintained across the organization.
Our application was granted following a complete audit of our instructional design and delivery processes and a site visit. In 2007 and again in 2012 our authorization was renewed following another audit and site visit.
From a practical standpoint, being an Authorized Provider and providing CEUs means that our training programs achieve stated learning objectives through the use of proven adult learning methodologies. Achievement of the objectives is documented through a post-test or skills assessment and all training records are maintained for a minimum of seven years.
In addition, each student completes a course evaluation that helps us assess:
- The content: Did it meet the stated objectives?
- The instructor: Did he or she demonstrate the required proficiency?
- The facility: Was it conducive to learning?
- The results of these evaluations are maintained on file and are used to identify areas of improvement.
